Barry Bonds: Baseball
Barry Lamar Bonds (born July 24, 1964) is the only person to surpass Hank Aaron’s (755) record of “most home runs in American baseball history.” He’s a former left fielder who played 22 seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1986-1992) and San Francisco Giants (1993-2007). Although he broke numerous records and became a well-known baseball player, his accomplishments have been overshadowed by allegations regarding the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Bonds hold the record for various Major League Baseball hitting records including home runs and most career walks. He also received eight Gold Gloves for his defense in the outfield. Barry Bonds was famous for his strength and all-purpose talent. It was when he played with the San Francisco Giants that he proved to be a dynamic hitter, setting the sport on its ear with 73. He was an exceptional hitter, finishing his regular season career with a very high on-base percentage (.444) and isolated power (.309).

- Barry Bonds is the son of former Giant and 1968-1981 major league outfielder, Bobby Bonds. He is a distant cousin of another baseball protégé, Reggie Jackson and the godson of the famous Willie Mays.
- His 715th career home run happened on 28th May 2006 where he hit and surpassed Babe Ruth for second on the all-time American homer list, just right behind Hank Aaron.
- Bonds is the only member of the 500-500 club where he has hit at least 500 home runs (762) and stolen 500 bases (514).
