Allen Iverson: Basketball

Allen Ezail Iverson (born June 7, 1975), also known as “The Answer”, “Ivy” or AI”, is one of the most controversial basketball players of all time. He used to play professional basketball for the Philadelphia 76ers (1996-2006, 2009-2010), Denver Nuggets (2006-2008), Memphis Grizzlies (2009) and Detroit Pistons (2008-2009). Iverson attended Georgetown University and excelled in basketball, receiving many prestigious awards like Big East Defensive Player of the Year and Big East Rookie of the Year.



Greatest Sporting Achievements

Some of Allen Iverson’s awards during his professional basketball career, playing for point guard and shooting guard positions, include an eleven-time NBA All-Star, two-time All-Star MVP and NBA’s MVP. He scored an average of 29.7 points per game, second to Michael Jordan. 

Why Was He So Good?

His trade marks were cornrows and lightning fast crossover and the fastest first step in the game. He is the fifth greatest NBA shooting guard of all time rated by ESPN despite his struggles, legal and financial problems. Allen Iverson was indeed one of the greatest shooters of all time.
