Nick Faldo: Golf
Sir Nicholas Alexander Faldo, MBE (born: July 18, 1957 in Welwyn Garden City, England) is one of English golf’s greatest. He’s a 6-time major champion, one of the top handfuls of golfers from his era between the late 1970s until the mid 1990s.
Greatest Sporting Achievements
Faldo has over 40 professional wins that include 30 victories on the European Tour, leading the tour in money and scoring, and six major championships – three Open Championships in 1987, 1990 and 1992 and three Masters in 1989, 1990 and 1996. He received the European Tour Order of Merit (money leader) in 1983 and 1992, PGA Tour Player of the Year in 1990 and is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. In 2009, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth.
