Judo is one of the sports at the Commonwealth Games. A judo competition was first held as a demonstration sport at the 1986 Games. It has officially been on the program in 1990, 2002, 2014 and 2022 Games. It has been included in the reduced program for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
In 2022, there were competitions across fourteen weight categories (7 for males, 7 for females).
Trivia
- Judo gives out two bronze medals, one for the winner of the repechage and another for the athlete who won the third place event.
- England has been the most successful country in judo - winning 28 of the 44 gold medals given out (not including 2022).
