Billie Jean King CupĀ (Fed Cup): Women's Tennis Team Event

The Billie Jean King CupĀ (formerly the Fed Cup) is the premier international team event for women's tennis. The tournament started in 1963, and was known as the Federation Cup until 1995. It is organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is competed by teams from different countries in a knock-out format yearly. The men's equivalent of this event is the Davis Cup.

The US won the first tournament, but it was Australia which dominated in the early years, winning seven of the first 12 championships. Czechia dominated the Fed Cup in the 2010s, winning six of ten competitions in the decade. However, overall, the US has won the event the most times.
