Here are some of the publications that you should know about - scientific journals in the disciplines of exercise and sport science and medicine. I have not read all of these (obviously), and the categories are only based on the titles of the journal. The initial list was based on high ranking journals from a recent impact factor lists by Thomson Scientific, Inc.

As you can see there is significant number of journals in which research is published in the sport science topics, and there is no way of reading all of these to keep up with current trends in the area. See also the list on free online sport science journals.
