Lawn Bowls
Lawn Bowls or just "bowls", is a sport in which the goal is to roll biased balls so they should stop close to a smaller ball called a jack or kitty. The sport was developed in 13th century England. Lawn bowls are usually played on a large field with manicured grass or synthetic surfaces also known as a Bowling Green.
The bowling greens are divided into playing strips called rinks. For a singles game, one of the players flips a coin to see who wins the mat, then they begin the competition.
Matches start with the player placing the matt and rolling the jack to the opposite end of the green which then serves as the target. Then the jack is aligned to the center, and the players alternately roll their bowls from the mat towards the jack.
lawn bowlingThe scoring method varies depending on the competition. For a singles game, the winner is the player who reaches a specified number of shots, either 21 or 25 shots. For teams, the winner is whoever has the higher score after a certain number of ends.
