The new sport of Target Ball was created by Michael Spengos from Greece in May 2022. Target Ball is like soccer but with 4 different ways to score.  Actually it combines soccer, mostly with elemets from American Football and why not basketball. 

Sport Description:

Like Soccer with the following differences ...   

1. Goal posts.  Instead of the regular soccer goal posts  imagine the ones for American Footbal. A goal is like a field goal for American football.   
   
2. Scorring:  -The areas near the goalposts (20 yards) are painted. All goals scored from outside the painted area count as 1 point.  All goals scored from inside the painted area count 3 points.  All goals scored by the SPECIAL player of the team count twice their regular price.  So either 2 or 6 points.   
   
3. There is no gollie.  Instead there is the SPECIAL PLAYER (SP).  The SP can do what regular players can do but also, the SP can use his hands to block in any point of the pitch.  Most importantly the SP can use his hands to score.  The SP is not allowed to pick the ball from the gound but it has to be passed to him in the air.  After catcing the ball the SP has to throw it as he choses.  Either passing , or attempting to score or even droping it on the ground and continue as a regular player. 
   
4. There are no boxes, penalty kicks etc. There are though free kicks.  Exactly like soccer.  All other rules are soccer rules.   

Equipment Required: A pitch, two goal posts, marked areas, a ball.  11 plus 11 players plus subs. 

NOTE: I have only tried out though a short version with 5 vs 5 players. The SP is a very important aspect of the game.  Note that coaching strategies will be build around utilizing the SP.
