Tavolino - A New Sport

The new sport of Tavolino (also called "table ball") was created by Dario from Italy in June 2022. The sport can be simply described as hand volleyball but on a table.

Equipment Required: table, volleyball ball and sand court

Sport Details

There are 2 teams of 2 players each. One game is played to choose who will serve and who will receive.

The game is played on sand with a small bar table in the middle.

To serve, a team needs to throw the ball to the opponent diagonally but letting it bounce on the table.

Each team has to do a minimum of 2 passes to a max of 3 passes to each other.

After doing 2 or 3 passes, the team needs to make the ball bounce on the table and go in the opponents side of the court.

The first team to let the ball hit the ground or not touch the table wins a point.

2 or more bounces on the table are points to the opposing team.

The teams are not allowed to hold the ball then hit it on the table, it must always be a first touch.

Once a point is gained, the points are just like tennis. (15, 30, 40, game, set, match). The first team to win 2 sets is the winner.
