The new sport of Zonkerball was created by Harrison Darwin, Max Sholicar, Oliver Evans from England on 7th July 2023. Zonkerball is a contact ball sport in which the players must aim to carry the zonkerball to the finishing zonkerball pole whilst in possession of it in their arms. The zonkerzone (the field of play) can either be slanted or at a regular angle. If it is slanted, the starting zonkerball pole must be at the bottom end.
Sport Description
Before the game starts, the players must line up at the starting zonkerball pole (laid horizontally), with the person who is randomly decided possession of the ball in the middle.
When the game starts, the players must try their hardest to obtain possession of the zonkerball and bring it to the finish with it in their arms.
Players are able to kick the zonkerball and also carry it. However, if the zonkerball crosses the final zonkerball pole and it is not being held by anyone, the person responsible for crossing it will be penalised. The penalty for this is for that person to not compete in the next round.
When the zonkerball crosses the zonkerball pole, the player carrying it must shout "Zonkerball!" in order to communicate that it has crossed. However, if it is shouted by a player before it crosses the pole, that player will suffer the same penalty as before.
Fouls are given when someone is injured by an opposing player with purpose. There are a total of 12 rounds in a zonkerball game, unless there is a draw and it will be extended until a team wins.
