Here is the top 10 list of the highest earning sportspeople from 2006. It is a little old, the list would be much different today. Tiger Woods on top again, this time earning $90 million in just 12 months. Schumacher was next with 58 million USD (he only won once during the year). The surprise entry this year is Muhammad Ali, who has been out of his sport for a long time, but made $50 million selling the rights to his name.
This list was published in Forbes magazine July 2006. Earnings estimates (US dollars) are for June 2005 to June 2006. Totals include salaries, bonuses, prize money, endorsements and appearance fees.
