The World's Highest Paid Athletes List 2011

Here are the top 10 of the highest earning sports people from 2011, taken from the list 'The World's 50 Highest-Paid Athletes' published by Forbes magazine in May. Tiger was again the top-ranked athlete, though he took a $30 million hit on his earnings compared to the previous year, and his reign of 10 consecutive top positions may be coming to the end. The highest paid female athlete was Maria Sharapova ranked 29th with 24.2 million dollars in earnings.



Earnings totals (US dollars) are derived from salaries, bonuses, prize money, appearance fees, licensing and endorsement income in the 12 months from May 1, 2010 to May 1, 2011.
