The number of sports for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games has been reduced from 19 in 2022 to only 10 sports. This includes the two compulsory sports of swimming and athletics. See details of the sport changes for each games.

Golf, coastal rowing, shooting and BMX racing had been added since the previous Commonwealth Games, with golf and BMX set to make their Commonwealth Games debuts. Again there was plans for a women's cricket tournament, but no men's tournament.
