The route started and ended in Paris, maintaining the traditional clockwise loop around France.

Belgian cyclist Sylvère Maes emerged as the overall winner, securing his first Tour victory. His final winning margin was more than 25 minutes ahead of his nearest competitor, Frenchman Antonin Magne.

This edition saw increased participation from international teams, reflecting the growing popularity and prestige of the Tour de France worldwide.
