The physical demands vary greatly among the cycling disciplines, therefore the appropriate tests for specific events and for specific athletes will vary. For example, professional road cyclists will be interested in their VO2max, while track sprint cyclists will want to know about their power and strength. There are also examples of tests for cyclists that are used for the eTID program from the Australian Institute of Sport.
General
There are many tests that are appropriate for all cyclists, such as the range of anthropometrical tests. There are specific tests depending on the cycling discipline and event that you are interested in. The tests listed below are not an exhaustive list - check out the complete list of fitness tests.
Endurance Cycling Tests
Sprint Cycling Tests
These tests are more appropriate for track cyclists and sprint specialist road cyclists.
