2002 Tour de France

The 2002 Tour de France, the 89th edition of the race, featured 20 stages and a prologue, covering a total distance of approximately 3,277 kilometers (2,036 miles). The race commenced in Luxembourg City with a prologue time trial and concluded in Paris on the Champs-Élysées.

American cyclist Lance Armstrong secured his fourth consecutive Tour de France victory. Armstrong took the yellow jersey in the mountain stages, particularly excelling in the 11th stage to La Mongie in the Pyrenees, where he made a decisive move. His dominance continued in the individual time trials, further extending his lead. Armstrong finished the race with a commanding lead of over seven minutes ahead of second-place finisher Joseba Beloki of Spain, while Lithuanian rider Raimondas Rumšas completed the podium in third place.
