- Although it sounds like a good idea, and sometimes it is the best choice, but they are not always. Many restaurant salads are dripping in high calorie, high fat dressings. Plus, they often add fatty toppings like croutons and bacon bits. If you are going to choose a salad, be sure the dressing and extras. When it comes down to it, you may be better off buying a burger.
